During the second quarter of 2023, Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) awarded business contracts exceeding RO 3 million to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), benefiting 17 such enterprises. This underscores the ongoing collaboration between Omantel and SMEs.
As part of their partnership, the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) and Omantel organized four workshops in various governorates to exchange business insights. These workshops were conducted within the framework of the “Supplier Development Initiative,” which aims to provide training in specialized contracts, procurement, and opportunities to help SMEs maximize the benefits of Omantel’s business offerings.
In December 2022, ASMED and Omantel signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the primary goal of offering technical and advisory support to SMEs registered with the Authority. This initiative aims to empower the entrepreneurship sector and enhance in-country added value (ICV).
