UAE Strongly Condemns Israeli Minister’s Threat of Nuclear Strike on Gaza Strip

The UAE has strongly condemned the recent statements made by Israeli Minister of Heritage Amihai Eliyahu regarding the use of a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip. These remarks are viewed as a serious breach of international law and an encouragement of severe violations of International Humanitarian Law, including acts that could be considered as war crimes. They also raise serious concerns about a potential intent to commit genocide.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the UAE expressed its firm opposition to the threat of nuclear weapons. The UAE emphasizes that the utmost priority is to safeguard the lives of civilians and provide them with the necessary humanitarian aid.

The Ministry reiterates the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further loss of life. It underscores the crucial importance of safeguarding civilians in accordance with international law, including established treaties, and ensuring that they are not targeted during times of conflict.

The UAE has called upon the global community to redouble its efforts to prevent further escalation of the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. It urges all parties to work towards a comprehensive and equitable peace, while preventing the region from descending into heightened levels of violence, tension, and instability.
