UAE’s Armed Forces Showcase Advanced Defensive Capabilities at Union Fortress 9 Military Parade
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) showcased its formidable military prowess on Sunday, with a grand display of advanced defensive capabilities. The event, graced by the presence of UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, featured simulated combat scenarios. These tests encompassed challenges faced by land, sea, and air forces in complex situations.
A video released by the Abu Dhabi Media Office captured the impressive manoeuvres executed by military personnel. These ranged from daring parachute jumps into the sea to precision missile launches aimed at simulated ‘enemy’ targets.
Additionally, the footage showcased women in traditional abayas, exhibiting remarkable skills while hanging off vehicles and executing synchronized drifts. The K9, cavalry, and paratrooper units also played integral roles in the demonstration. Whether it was naval officers navigating through water or camouflaged land soldiers wielding sniper rifles, the UAE armed forces displayed their preparedness for any combat scenario.
During the event, the President lauded the Armed Forces and security forces for their high state of readiness, advanced training, and sophisticated equipment. He emphasized that these forces have faithfully safeguarded the UAE’s progress over decades and will continue to symbolize the nation’s resilience and honour.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also expressed his admiration for the vigilance of the security forces in maintaining community safety and security effectively. He extended his gratitude for their dedicated national service.
The Union Fortress 9 military parade was attended by prominent figures including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; and Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The event was also graced by various Sheikhs, ministers, and high-ranking state officials.
Notable figures such as Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Issa Al Mazrouei, Armed Forces Chief of Staff, were present alongside other dignitaries and members of the public.
