American University of Sharjah Faculty Members Gain Global Recognition for Research Excellence

For the past 25 years, the dedicated faculty members at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) have been tirelessly working on innovative projects and engaging in fruitful collaborations, all while advancing their academic pursuits. Once again, AUS has received global recognition for these efforts. In a study led by Professor John Ioannidis from Stanford University and published by Elsevier BV, 21 of AUS’s researchers and faculty members have been acknowledged as being among the top two percent of researchers worldwide for the year 2021.

This comprehensive study assesses the impact of researchers using various metrics, primarily based on citations in 2021. The study provides two distinct lists – one recognizing researchers with a longstanding impact, where 9 AUS faculty members have been featured, and another acknowledging recent year impact, with 19 AUS faculty members making the list.

The AUS faculty members featured on these lists cover a diverse range of research areas, including but not limited to structural engineering, management, mathematics, supply chain management, brand management, privatization, cosmic-ray acceleration, psychology of language learning, construction management, cyber-physical systems, genetics, computational solids, earthquake engineering, IoT, polymeric drug delivery, fuel cell technology, MEMS simulation, cyber security, and inventory control.
