UAE minister urges greater Middle East cooperation for sustainable tourism

The UAE’s Minister of Economy and head of Emirates Tourism Council, Abdulla bin Touq, has called for increased cooperation among Middle East countries to develop a sustainable and innovative tourism sector that supports their economies. He suggested that this can be achieved by launching innovative projects that align with each country’s unique identity. Bin Touq emphasized the Middle East’s potential as a global tourism destination and the need to reformulate tourism goals and policies. He also called for a more effective role for the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in supporting these efforts. The UAE is attending the UNWTO general assembly in its capacity as the UNWTO’s vice president for the Middle East region.
