The Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and his accompanying delegation engaged in a series of meetings with leaders of major companies in Beijing, China. These meetings resulted in the signing of several joint agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China.
The discussions involved high-level officials from companies such as Kerry Company, Almajdouie Sinotrans Middle East, JDL Company, and Cainiao-Alibaba Group. The sessions included presentations about the companies, an exploration of the significant challenges they encounter, and discussions on how to facilitate their business operations within the Saudi market. As a result of these meetings, the companies were granted licenses to conduct logistics activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, during the meetings, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Acting President of the Public Transport Authority (PTA), Rumaih Al-Rumaih, signed agreements with Cainiao-Alibaba Group, J&T Express, and iMile to provide short-address services. These agreements are expected to contribute to the development of efficient logistics services in the Saudi market.
Furthermore, the deputy transport minister inked agreements with J&T Express and iMile to collaborate on training initiatives with the Saudi Logistics Academy. This cooperation is aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of professionals in the logistics sector.
These meetings and agreements were conducted as part of the Minister of Transport’s participation in the Global Sustainable Transport Forum, held in Beijing on September 25 and 26. This engagement reflects the commitment of Saudi Arabia and China to strengthening their ties in the transport and logistics sector, fostering economic cooperation, and promoting sustainable transport solutions.
