G42 and Microsoft Collaborate

G42 and Microsoft have entered a new phase of their strategic partnership, announcing plans to provide sovereign cloud services, co-innovate, enhance AI capabilities, and expand data center infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Microsoft’s sovereign cloud offering will enable the UAE’s public sector and regulated industries to access advanced cloud and AI features, helping them secure sensitive data and comply with local privacy and regulatory requirements. G42’s understanding of UAE sovereignty requirements and technical capabilities will be instrumental in customizing the offering to meet specific customer needs.
Together, G42 and Microsoft will focus on developing AI-powered industry-specific solutions in sectors such as health and life sciences, energy, sustainability, and national projects, including the COP28 conference scheduled in the UAE.
The partnership aims to set new standards for public sector cloud computing security and innovation while enhancing the technology ecosystem. It will provide in-country services, expand market opportunities for partners, and create value for Microsoft’s partner ecosystem by delivering industry-specific solutions to local entities. Microsoft will also expand its Azure services through Khazna Data Centers, a joint venture between G42 and e&.
Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government & Director of The National Data Centre, lauded the partnership for contributing to a safer digital environment, enhancing efficiency, and enabling citizens to access services seamlessly while managing cyber risks effectively.
Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42, described the collaboration as a significant step toward accelerating innovation and driving technological advancements across key sectors.
Judson Althoff, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Microsoft, highlighted the potential for next-generation AI solutions to address business, societal, and sustainability challenges responsibly.
Samer Abu-Ltaif, Corporate VP and President for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Microsoft, praised the UAE’s early adoption of technology and emphasized the collaboration’s support for the country’s vision of empowering innovation and addressing community challenges.
This partnership represents the first significant outcome since G42 and Microsoft announced their intention to collaborate in April 2023, with plans to strengthen their partnership further in the coming months.
