Dubai’s private schools experienced a significant increase in student enrollment for the 2023-24 academic year, with a record-breaking 12% rise, marking the highest ever increase in enrollment since the establishment of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in 2007. The total enrollment reached 365,000 students, reflecting Dubai’s growing reputation as an advanced educational hub offering global standards of education quality.
The city’s population has also been on the rise, with Dubai Statistics data indicating a growth of more than 84,400 people since January 2023. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs reported a 63% increase in residency visas in the first half of 2023.
Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Director-General of KHDA, emphasized the city’s progress and its ability to attract ambitious individuals and families. Dubai is poised to enter a new era in its educational landscape, driven by the vision of its leadership and a diverse and internationally renowned school culture.
Dubai currently boasts 220 private schools offering 17 curricula to students from over 180 nationalities, and more than three-quarters of students receive education rated as “Good” or better by the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau, including 76% of Emirati students.
