Government Modernization Collaboration
During an official visit facilitated by the Government Experience Exchange Programme, HE Ana Brnabić, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, welcomed a delegation from the UAE government in Belgrade. The discussions during this visit primarily revolved around the progress of bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Serbia in the domains of government modernization and development.
The UAE delegation, headed by HE Mohamed Bin Taliah, Chief of Government Services of the UAE Government, consisted of members from the Government Services Sector team and the Government Experience Exchange Office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.
Mohamed Bin Taliah highlighted that this visit to Serbia aligns with the UAE government’s commitment to strengthening global partnerships in government modernization. The UAE is dedicated to advancing collaboration with friendly nations on projects aimed at improving services and promoting the adoption of innovation and advanced technology to enhance customer experiences.
Bin Taliah commended the partnership with the Serbian government as a positive model of cooperation. It demonstrates the exchange of expertise, experiences, and success stories to support the comprehensive modernization of government operations. He praised the significant achievements realized since the bilateral cooperation agreement was announced in May 2022.
Throughout the visit, the UAE delegation held meetings with Serbian ministers and officials, including a field visit to a smart police station in Serbia, designed to leverage UAE’s expertise in this domain. The delegation also discussed progress and preparations for launching an e-government service center in Belgrade with HE Mihailo Jovanović, Minister of Information and Telecommunications. Additionally, a meeting was held with HE Jelena Begović, Minister of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, to explore opportunities for enhancing cooperation in various aspects of government modernization.
Bin Taliah participated in a dialogue session within Serbia’s Biotech Future Forum, along with HE Jelena Begović. This session delved into UAE government strategies and best practices in advancing innovation in emerging technology.
The Government Experience Exchange Programme aims to create a model for global cooperation in developing government work, identifying challenges faced by governments amid rapid technological advancements, and creating new strategies to keep pace with these changes. These efforts enable governments to leverage advancements in shaping future opportunities and allow the UAE to share its successful experiences in government administration with countries worldwide.
