Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, announced that the country has revised its 2030 tourism target to welcome 150 million visitors, up from the initial goal of 100 million. The Kingdom expects to reach the original goal by the end of 2023. Out of the new target, an estimated 75 million visitors are expected to be international, while the remaining 75 million will be domestic travelers. The Saudi government plans to invest over $800 billion in the tourism sector over the next 10 years. Al-Khateeb emphasized the growth in the middle class in countries like India and China as a driving force behind the increased number of international travelers.
