Indian actress and producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas made a stunning appearance at the Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI), wearing a dazzling gown created by Lebanese designer Tony Ward. She chose a white and gold tulle dress with twilight embroidery, complemented by a pure white taffeta cape.
As the chairperson of MAMI, Chopra Jonas presented the Excellence in Cinema Award (International) to Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino on the opening night. Guadagnino is renowned for directing films like “Bones and All,” “Suspiria,” and “Challengers.” He also delivered a master class at the festival.
The event took place at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center, marking the return of the festival as an in-person event after going online during the COVID-19 pandemic. Chopra Jonas emphasized the festival’s support for new talent and its promotion of female filmmakers in her opening speech.
She is set to appear in the film “Heads of State” alongside John Cena and Idris Elba, directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, and Harrison Query. Chopra Jonas was last seen in “Love Again,” a remake of the 2016 German film “SMS fur Dich.”
The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival is screening over 250 films during its 10-day run until November 5.
