Nada Al-Tuwaijri – A Visionary Leader Empowering Saudi Arabia’s Creative Future

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – As Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 redefines the country’s economic and cultural landscape, one name stands out as a trailblazer in digital media and entertainment: Nada Al-Tuwaijri. As the co-founder and CEO of Merwas, she is playing a transformative role in turning the Kingdom into a global center for creative content, technology, and talent development.

From Education to Empowerment

Nada Al-Tuwaijri began her academic journey in London, where she earned a degree in Political Science from Kingston University and a master’s in Peace Studies from University of Westminster. Her education equipped her with a global mindset and the ability to navigate complex media landscapes—skills that would define her career in journalism, strategic communications, and entrepreneurship.

Media Beginnings and Strategic Communications

Her professional journey started at Al Arabiya, where she sharpened her storytelling and reporting skills. She later joined Edelman as a Senior Account Manager, managing major international clients and crafting high-impact communication strategies.

This experience opened doors to government roles, where she served as Head of Strategic Partnerships at the Center for International Communication (Ministry of Media) and Media Manager at Misk Foundation, promoting youth empowerment and global outreach.

Founding Merwas: A Creative Powerhouse

With a vision to localize world-class content production, Al-Tuwaijri launched Merwas in Riyadh—Saudi Arabia’s first fully integrated multimedia production company. The facility features cutting-edge studios, immersive tech, and offers full-cycle support for artists, filmmakers, and content creators.

Merwas’ Global Impact

Under her leadership, Merwas has become a catalyst for:

  • Empowering Saudi Creators
  • Hosting International Productions
  • Advancing Digital Media Tech (VR, AR, AI)
  • Driving Foreign Investment in Entertainment

These efforts directly support Vision 2030’s goals to diversify the economy and build a sustainable creative sector.

Humanitarian Vision Beyond Business

Al-Tuwaijri also leads Men Ajlehem, a relief initiative for Syrian refugees at Jordan’s Zaatari Camp, and supports women’s safety through the Safe Cities project in Cairo. Her advocacy underscores the role of media in driving social change.

A Voice on the Global Stage

Frequently invited to international media summits, she speaks about Saudi Arabia’s creative transformation and the country’s rising role in global content production. Recognized among Top Saudi Talents Under 35, her influence continues to grow.

Looking Forward: Vision 2030 in Action

Al-Tuwaijri’s future plans include:

  1. Launching New Creative Hubs across Saudi Arabia
  2. Expanding International Partnerships with top studios
  3. Training the Next Generation of Saudi digital talent
  4. Integrating Immersive Tech in mainstream media

Her work ensures young Saudis—especially women—have the tools and platforms to lead in the digital economy.

Conclusion

Nada Al-Tuwaijri is more than a media entrepreneur—she’s a national asset leading Saudi Arabia’s shift into a global cultural force. Through Merwas and her leadership, she is laying the foundation for a creative, inclusive, and tech-driven Saudi future.
