Ho Kwon Ping, the founder of Banyan Tree Holdings, remains optimistic about the return of Chinese travelers despite recent challenges. Speaking at the Milken Institute’s Asia Summit, he emphasized that the downturn in Chinese tourism is temporary and expected, given the transition from lockdowns to mass travel. Ho pointed out that Chinese tourism is making a strong comeback for Banyan Tree Holdings, with an increasing number of independent travelers who are willing to pay higher airfares. He also praised China’s emphasis on consumption-driven growth and its positive impact on the tourism sector.
