the King of Bahrain issued a decree appointing Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan as the next governor of the central bank. Humaidan’s term as governor is set to commence on February 1, succeeding Rasheed Mohammed Al Maraj, who has held this position since January 2005. Notably, when Al Maraj was initially appointed, Bahrain had a monetary authority, but in 2006, it was renamed the Central Bank of Bahrain. Al Maraj had previously served as the head of the Arab Petroleum Investments.
