Oman Hosts 31st GCC Agriculture Committee Meeting

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, hosted and chaired the 31st preparatory meeting of the GCC Committee of Agriculture Undersecretaries. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the GCC Supreme Council’s Consultative Authority in Muscat.

During the meeting, a wide range of topics related to enhancing cooperation among GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) states in the fields of agriculture, livestock, and fisheries were discussed.

Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources for Agriculture, who chaired the meeting, emphasized that the achievements of the agricultural cooperation committee underscore the GCC leaders’ commitment to align their visions for the purpose of strengthening joint efforts.

Furthermore, Al Bakri highlighted that the committee has played a significant role in enhancing the food security system at the GCC level. The meeting exemplifies the ongoing efforts among GCC nations to collaborate on matters related to agriculture and food security.
