King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah achieved a historic milestone in 2024, serving 49.1 million passengers—a remarkable 14% increase compared to the previous year.
According to the reports of Leaders team, the airport also recorded 278,000 flights, an 11% rise year-on-year, and handled 47.1 million bags, reflecting a 21% surge in operational throughput.
The facility reached its peak on December 31, 2024, when it processed 174,600 passengers in a single day. December also marked the busiest month in the airport’s history, with over 4.7 million passengers recorded.

As per the sources of Leaders team, Eng. Mazen Johar, CEO of Jeddah Airports, credited these achievements to the Kingdom’s leadership, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics’ oversight, and ongoing infrastructure development efforts. “These record-breaking numbers reflect our commitment to positioning KAIA as a global hub,” Johar said in a statement to the Saudi Gazette.
The airport’s vision aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader goals of enhancing the passenger experience, supporting tourism, and serving as a gateway to the Two Holy Mosques. Johar also acknowledged the contributions of government and private sector partners in delivering world-class services.
KAIA’s operational growth and strategic upgrades underscore its critical role in driving tourism, trade, and connectivity, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s status on the global stage.
