Israel launched overnight airstrikes on Syrian air defense systems and ammunition depots as part of its ongoing efforts to degrade Syria’s military capabilities following the recent removal of President Bashar al-Assad.

As per the reports of Leaders team, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a UK-based war monitor, reported on Monday that Israel targeted key military sites in Syria’s coastal Tartous region. The strikes specifically hit air defense units and “surface-to-surface missile depots,” with SOHR describing the attack as “the heaviest strikes” in the area in more than a decade.

The attack comes amid increasing regional instability after the ousting of Assad. Israel’s actions reflect its long-standing strategy of curbing military threats in Syria, particularly those backed by Iran. Syrian state media reported significant damage to military infrastructure, though casualties remain unconfirmed.

These strikes mark an escalation in Israel’s military operations in Syria, signaling its intent to maintain dominance in the region’s shifting power dynamics while preventing the resurgence of military capabilities that could threaten its security.
