Isak Andic, the Turkish-born founder of the international fashion brand Mango, tragically died in a hiking accident on Saturday while exploring caves near Barcelona. As per the reports of Leaders team, the 71-year-old businessman reportedly fell into a 150-meter ravine in the Montserrat mountains, an area known for its deep caves. Andic was with his son and other family members when the incident occurred, prompting a swift emergency response including a helicopter and specialized mountain rescue teams.

Andic, who co-founded Mango in 1984 with his brother Nahman, built the company into a global fashion powerhouse with nearly 3,000 stores across 120 countries. His contributions to the industry earned him a net worth of $4.5 billion, according to Forbes. Despite his passing, Mango’s CEO, Toni Ruiz, expressed that Andic’s legacy will continue through the company’s operations.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Catalan President Salvador Illa Roca both paid tribute to Andic, recognizing his impact on the global fashion scene and his role in promoting Catalonia.
