Israel carried out intense overnight attacks on Gaza, targeting displaced civilians in refugee camps and a school, while issuing orders to evacuate one of the last functioning hospitals in the besieged northern region.

In a drone strike on the al-Mawasi “safe zone” in southern Gaza, refugee tents were set ablaze, killing seven people. According to the reports of Leaders team, additional attacks on a civilian car and a security vehicle claimed four more lives. Meanwhile, strikes on a school housing displaced resident in the Nuseirat refugee camp killed one person, while four others died in a nearby area, according to reports from Al Jazeera Arabic and the Palestinian news agency Wafa.

These attacks marked a particularly bloody 24 hours, with medical sources reporting a death toll of 50 people since early Sunday.

In a separate development, as per the sources of Leaders team, Israeli forces ordered the closure and evacuation of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, endangering the lives of 400 civilians, including infants in incubators. The hospital, one of the few still operating in northern Gaza, has been under relentless siege for nearly three months. Reports indicate that the hospital was specifically targeted with bombs, artillery shells, and sniper fire, striking critical wards and killing three civilians.

Hussam Abu Safia, the hospital’s head, warned that continued attacks on the facility’s fuel tanks could trigger a catastrophic explosion, resulting in mass casualties. Despite the military’s evacuation orders, logistical challenges, including a lack of ambulances, made compliance nearly impossible.

Speaking from central Gaza, Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud highlighted the dire conditions: “Marked evacuation zones, schools, shelters, and hospitals are no longer safe.”

Humanitarian aid remains woefully inadequate. Oxfam reported that only 12 aid trucks had entered northern Gaza over the past two and a half months, with Israeli military obstructions severely limiting aid distribution.

Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, described the escalation of violence over the past 24 hours as devastating, renewing his call for a ceasefire. “The world must not become numb,” he urged in a post on social media.

As attacks persist and safe zones vanish, the plight of displaced civilians in Gaza grows increasingly dire, underscoring the urgent need for international intervention.
