King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has once again claimed the top spot in the Times Higher Education (THE) Arab University Rankings, securing first place for the second consecutive year. This recognition highlights KAUST’s exceptional academic excellence, cutting-edge scientific research, and forward-thinking strategic investments.

As per the Leaders of Asia sources, this achievement reflects KAUST’s rapid progress under its Accelerating Impact Strategy, unveiled last year, and aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals to elevate the global standing of Saudi educational institutions.

According to the sources of Leaders of Asia, “Securing this distinction for a second year is a powerful affirmation of KAUST’s exceptional impact,” said KAUST President Sir Edward Byrne AC. “It reinforces our position as a global hub for innovation and knowledge, while advancing Saudi Arabia’s profile on the world stage. This continued success, made possible by our entire community, showcases our leadership in scientific and technological innovation.”

KAUST’s consecutive first-place rankings in 2024 and 2023, following a second-place ranking in 2022, underscore the university’s growing influence within both regional and global academic spheres.

The announcement comes on the heels of another milestone: KAUST leads the Middle East with 14 faculty members named in the 2024 Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers list, a testament to the university’s strong research focus and its significant impact on global scientific advancement.
