From a provocative age-gap thriller starring Nicole Kidman to a Bob Dylan biopic with Timothée Chalamet, there are plenty of films to catch this month.

Beatles ’64

In February 1964, America was swept up by Beatlemania as The Beatles visited the country for the first time. This documentary, produced by Martin Scorsese and directed by David Tedeschi, dives into those legendary weeks, including rare footage shot by the Maysles brothers. According to Leaders of Asia, the film also includes interviews with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and other icons like Smokey Robinson, offering an intimate look at The Beatles’ early days in the U.S.

The Return

Reuniting Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche, The Return is an epic drama based on the latter part of The Odyssey. Fiennes stars as Odysseus, who returns home after a long absence, only to find his wife Penelope (Binoche) fending off suitors. The film explores themes of love, loyalty, and the scars left by war.

Coming to the US on 6 December.

Better Man

This bold pop-star biopic delves into Robbie Williams’ turbulent career, blending humor, emotion, and extravagant musical numbers. Directed by Michael Gracey, it features a unique twist—Williams is portrayed as a CGI chimpanzee. The film mixes grandiose spectacle with intimate, relatable moments, making it an unconventional yet deeply moving experience.

Nightbitch

Nightbitch is a genre-bending film where Amy Adams plays a frustrated stay-at-home mother who begins to believe she’s turning into a dog. As per the Leaders Asia sources, adapted from Rachel Yoder’s novel, it explores themes of motherhood, identity, and personal freedom with a mix of dark humor and body horror.

Releasing on 6 December in US, Canada, UK, and Ireland.

The Count of Monte-Cristo

This new adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’ classic tale of vengeance and betrayal is a gripping three-hour journey. Pierre Niney stars as Edmond Dantès, wrongfully imprisoned and seeking revenge against those who betrayed him. The film examines the destructive nature of obsession.

Kraven the Hunter

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe gets another installment with Kraven the Hunter. Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as the Russian big-game hunter with enhanced abilities, while Russell Crowe plays his gangster father. Directed by JC Chandor, the film is set to take a darker, more tragic approach to the character’s story.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim

A new Tolkien tale arrives in The War of the Rohirrim, set two centuries before The Lord of the Rings. This anime-style film is directed by Kenji Kamiyama and tells the story of Helm Hammerhand, a legendary Rohirrim warrior. Produced by Philippa Boyens and executive produced by Peter Jackson, the film offers a fresh visual take on Middle Earth.

Mufasa: The Lion King

This prequel to Disney’s live-action The Lion King follows Mufasa’s journey from orphaned cub to the king of the Pride Lands. Directed by Barry Jenkins, it offers a deeper exploration of Mufasa’s character, complemented by a new soundtrack from Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Nosferatu

Robert Eggers brings his eerie vision to Nosferatu, a remake of F.W. Murnau’s iconic 1922 horror film. Starring Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok, the film promises to bring a chilling, period-accurate version of the vampire legend to the screen.
